British Whitworth taps help please
« on: May 05, 2010, 10:04:48 AM »
Hi guys.

Do any of Americans here know of a store on the east coast or on the net that sell British Whitworth taps and dies and other British related threaded tooling.

All you help is appreciated.    Anthony.

John
I really do not know.

I have a friend here who is into British motorcycles and is currently building two back up, he tells me that he has tried the tooling houses over here and he gets blocked because they have to import all the equipment which means higher costs and time delays. I know a lot of people on here in the states are into the same thing and I was hoping one of them would give me a reliable contact here.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure some chaps in the UK might even have an excess of some British taps and dies?
You will find it a distinct help… if you know and look as if you know what you are doing. (IRS training manual)
