Hi from sunny Switzerland. |

calypso:
I feel a bit of an imposter posting on this forum. Although I have always loved engines, especially miniature ones, I do not own a lathe and I certainly don't have the skills to use one if I did. My only saving grace is that I do collect small steam engines, mostly German, some dating back to the early 20th century http://www.youtube.com/user/calypso22. I have frequently wished I could make parts, as some have been very difficult to source, so maybe the time will come when I will make a start. Anyway, from what I've seen from your forum, I think I will be spending a lot of time reading and learning. Fascinating stuff. |

Welcome to the collective John. :borg: I wouldn't worry to much about learning to run a lathe/mill. We're here to help with selction (always fun to spend somebody elses money. ) if need be. But take your time and look around. We'll be more than happy to answer your question knowledgeably or at least try to. Regards, Bernd |

Hi calypso Welcome to MadModder. That is an impressive collection that you have. I went and watched several of them and I will be going back to watch the rest. Having a lathe or mill is not required to join the forum. We look forward to seeing more pictures of your collection and restoration of engines as you progress. :ddb: :ddb: Cheers  Don |
