Aquygen® Gas Generator Welding and plasma cutter gas

I don't think it's viable. Whatever energy is put in to separate the water molcules, you get back by re-combining them.
So, nowt gained. Energy in always equals energy out, even if it doesn't seem so.
Seem to remember something like 'Gibbs Free Energy of Enthalpy, (or some thing like it)' or 'delta-G-M-Standard'.
Chemistry O-Level a long ... long time ago.
Need a Chemical Engineer
EDIT Here you go, rather you than me.

I have since found out that these are the industrial version of the jewelers water torches. Sort of like putting lipstick on an old high priced tool. And hope nobody notices it. The other thing is even you use a little water and no fuelgas. The amount of electricity that you need to breakdown the water into hydrogen is more expensive than the gases or the consumables for a plasma torch.
So it appears that it answers the question of why the big dogs haven't pushed them. They cost a lot to buy and they cost a lot to operate!

Here's a bit more info on splitting water.
"quote"
It takes 1.24 volts to split water at 77 degree F (25C). A conventional electrolyser operates at 167 to 176 degree F (75 to 80 C) with a current density of around 2,000 amps per square meter. Voltage requirements fall with in 1.9 to 2 volt range. The required energy of input is 4.8 kWh per cubic meter of hydrogen produced.

Got the above info out of the book Fuel from Water by Michael A. Peavy.
The best part I like is the free water. You can make your own "sort" of fuel anytime you want. With a bit of wind turbine power you could make your own free fuel so to speak. Second law of thermodynamics be damed.

Boy did this one wander off track!  I was strictly interested in his water powered plasma torch only
But hey that what this site is for. Since the torch uses more electricity than the other types use gas or consumables :bugeye:

"Boy did this one wander off track!" You got that right.
That is one thing that I love about this site as well. A topic is started and comments made and sometimes go off topic but can end up starting a totally new topic or thread and can be very educational. Just like when a link is posted. You go to check out what you were directed too and while there you spot something else and you return 2 hours later or else you bookmark it for later return. I think that some of my best finds have been made this way. :ddb: :ddb:
You mentioned "jewelers water torches". I have never heard of them before but I am going to google it and see what I come up with. :coffee:
Cheers

PS: Maybe we should make this form required reading for all high school and college kids. Think of the well rounded education they would have? :smart:
