Grizzly #8688 Mini Lathe
« on: February 10, 2010, 11:31:16 PM »
Hi folks i just purchased the same lathe as the Grizzly #8688 from Bolton Machinery in California
and in the manual i do not see where it tells you how to change the degree of the upper section
of the X Y bed section in there which has the 40° mark right and left.

Can someone please e-mail me a photo showing which screws or nuts to loosen, shurly don't
want to mess things up, being a newbie.

Hi David,

Welcome to the collective.....

I think you`re referring to the compound slide.......

Wind the toolpost towards the tailstock, using the compound handwheel. This will uncover 2 caphead screws which lock the compound slide to the crossslide.

You can then swivel, & relock the slide to your angle.

David.

Still drilling holes... Sometimes, in the right place!

Still modifying bits of metal... Occasionally, making an improvement!

Try Grizzly manuals. Here's there manual for that lathe. http://cdn1.grizzly.com/manuals/g8688_m.pdf

Look on page 24. It'll show you how.
