Thanks for posting all those pictures. That was a lot of great pictures with loads of detail. I would love to attend such an event someday but it is on the wrong side of the pond.  :ddb: :ddb:

While there I looked at a few other pictures on your site and found the following which may be of interest to some of the members. I hope you don't mind me posting the link here. It is a newspaper clipping that tells of a record set by a model steam locomotive of over 100 miles. I will have to return another day when I have more time as I feel it will take many hours to view all the photo's you have up there.

of 2008 though, does anybody have more recent pictures ?

The Newspaper clips above are from an event many years ago on the track of my club, long before I joined.
It was a 7,25" Loco, indeed running for > 100 miles, without a single stop.
There is a little film, maybe I'll put it into YouYube.
Scaled up to 1:1 this is at least London - Edinborough, even the spankling brand new Tornado cannot do this...

The Loco still does exist, sadly at another club now, all but one of the drivers have passed away.
So what does this tell us?

SAM in LA:
Thanks for sharing the photos.

It looks like a fun and educational event.
