Sorry it did get any further than this as the suspected head damage turned out not to exist, in fact it was in very good condition and didn't need skimming after all. One day I will need this tool and will be fitting the cutter. |

A good source of free, high grade material for large fly cutters is discarded brake disks (aka rotors) - brake repair shops have wastebins full of them. HIgh grade cast iron, nicely seasoned, machine up nicely. |
