Divided he ad:
I thought you might like to see this? I am in no way into bikes and I can't ride one at all.... But that doesn't stop me from appreciating this.... ( look for the numberplate!)

The card reads:-  Fontaine 1904 400cc, Made by Emile Fontaine in La Havre, this is the sole surviving example of this make.

The front

The RHS

The LHS

The rear

The makers badge (and the pump of which I should of asked it's function?!?)

The engine

Obviously it was the stunningly shiny nickle plating that drew me to it....   8)  :o  ;D

Just thought this should be out there somewhere on tinternet!

Oh my. That is a very tasty looking scooter. I like that. No idea what the pump is for though.

I just really liked the design and the shiny-ness of it  ;D

The pump will remain a mistery possibly until next years show!!

Glad you like it too  ;D

Ralph, we need to take up a collection and get you a set of blinders.  Attraction to bright and shiny bits and bobs can and will lead to early bankruptcy! ;)

My guess is that it is for the crank lubrication.  Notice the line runs down to a fitting in the crankcase approximately inline with the PTO bearing location.

Somebody spent many thousands of hours restoring that thing.

Not a bike nut but can appreciate a fine restoration.
