Hello All
I have partly finished the following Quick Change Tool post and found it to work so well I may never finish it.
To finish it I considered welding on some webs, or welding on another piece of angle to go over top with a hole in it to enable the clamp handle to go through, but so far on testing there seems no problem with flexing.
The main Angle iron is the heaviest I could find in my stock milled on one side only so the tool holder would slide easy. the tool holders milled from solid black ,(I will try some fabricated and welded, more later) the locking bolt the largest course thread I could find in the bolt box.( It locks the tool holder fine with less than a 1/4 turn.)
The tool holder slides are made from 12 mm black solid, welded in place while clamped to the Tool post Angle (anti spatter used) if you have none washing up liquid works.
A small rub with a small half round file to free the slide.
The complete set up is crude and not fine engineering but it works well and may give other folk idea's for themselves.
