Raggle:
Anybody see James May crossing the canal on this last night on BBC2? Nice to see half a ton of the stuff being used in one project even if it wasn't green. |

Green? Most of my handed-down Meccano was older than tha: blue (for plates) and gold (for girders). Yes, I saw the show. I had hoped they were going all the way across the Mersey to Birkenhead. Even so, a 40 (?) foot bridge must have involved zillions of little screws. An heroically futile eandeavour, but great fun to watch! Andy |

i watched it and loved it! you never know kids might even start playing with proper toys again  |

--- Quote ---you never know kids might even start playing with proper toys again --- End quote --- Ah yes! Something new (?) the toy you don't throw away. So, if you know a budding young engineer that's your Christmas present solved. And next year's too with an upgrade. They are still a bargain and with the modern wheels and the socket head bolts now provided make it look "the business". The 3 CD set of Meccano Magazines is worth a look too. Get someone else to buy him/her a Unimat1 and he'll be making stepper motor mounts from the PC junk his mates and neighbours have thrown away to power his creations. Is this too much to dream? Ray |

Dam ........... missed it ........ but I'm on the lookout for a re-run  ......... Mecano was my "Computer Games" back in the late 50's early 60's ...... and it still wins imho  CC |
