BTW very nearly did emigrate to NZ in (1983 I think, was certainly the year after really destructive fires in Tasmania), did the immigration thing at NZ House in London. Medical OK, enough funds etc. ... but never went. (LMF ??) Was put off the idea 'cos a mate had been there for a year or so, sed NZ folk were a bunch of parochial sods, never talked to him etc. etc. Awful place. He returned to UK, decided UK was even worse, went back to NZ, and AFAIK is still there ??
Dunno what would have happened if I had gone?
Well, that episode plus some other uncertainties caused me to abandon the idea.

Dave's post was obviously based on this mornings price, I filled up this afternoon and it was £1.09 per litre = $6.84 per US Gallon ........ :bugeye: .......... by the weekend after next we could all be living in caves :smart:

I can trump that, £1.18/litre at Texaco in Marlborough this afternoon but that may be something to to with the fact that there is no where else to fill up within 20 miles.
I better get one of my kidneys up for sale soon to fund the fuel costs to get to Harrogate next year.
