Is this Sally Shaper's ugly sister?
« on: January 18, 2010, 03:59:47 AM »

He is asking quite a bit for it too, about 70 quid or so.  It is very close is layout to Sally, my Adept 2 shaper,  but I would be annoyed if I had that one on the bench instead of Sally.

Auction details for this Perfecto Shaper are at http://www.trademe.co.nz/Business-farming-industry/Industrial/Manufacturing-metalwork/Other/auction-265415026.htm

It appears that the table has been broken off and welded back on. Wonder how the tram is?

Joe, I am pretty sure the T-slotted bit is an add on as other pictures online show these shaper with simple bolt holes in a rather rough casting, if so it would have been a reasonably easy exercise to use the shaper to true the original surface before mounting the t-slot bit.

You will find it a distinct help… if you know and look as if you know what you are doing. (IRS training manual)

This picture shows what I think is welded.

I think that picture clearly shows the original table in one piece.

[Later]  Besides, that looks like a nice example and Darren I really think you have room for a little shaper at your place!
