Hi all, A friend of mine showed me a 12volt gooseneck LED lamp that he purchased from Argos. He uses it on his milling machine, I must admit I was impressed how much light this little lamp knocks out :bugeye:, best of all its only £11.99! So anyway I bought one and fitted it to my little capstan lathe, the lamp has a 44cm metal gooseneck connected to a very strong bulldog clip, So i just clipped it on to the machines rear splash guard and hey presto a cheap machine light! Its got a built in on/off switch on the nice long cable and is supplied with a 12 volt mains transformer. Argos Item no. 432/5750 :mmr: Rob |

Looks useful. Does it come with a transformer? Andy |
slowcoach:
Hi Andy, Yep it comes with a transformer, the cable from the lamp just plugs straight in! ( no affiliation other than customer) Rob |
Darren:
Nice lamp, I might get one of those ..... What's the lathe? |
slowcoach:
Hi Darren, Its a 5" Raglan Capstan lathe. I use it to knock off the odd batch of axles and bushes for steam/diesel loco's. Set it up and off you go! It can be also used as a conventional lathe which is a bonus. If i feel really lazy, I can engage the auto feed to the capstan unit and it will do most of the work for me  She spent most of her life in a dark corner of a technical college classroom :( until i rescued her :D Rob |
