A very good buy indeed Chuck.

The price of these one time very expensive precision tooling has now dropped low enough to where it is bad practice not to have such things in your arsenal.

Instead of going out for a couple of nights out on the beer, where you just piddle your cash against a wall, you can kit yourself out with almost all the precision tooling you require.

It is when you come to make a critical measurement, that you realise how much tooling like this helps. Not used all the time, but indispensible when needed.

Nice one

Yes it's a good feeling having a new tool, nice tools btw,

I suppose it's a bit like new shoes or handbags for women. Don't have to have them but they sure make em feel good.... :ddb:
You will find it a distinct help… if you know and look as if you know what you are doing. (IRS training manual)

I agree with Darren too, off to count the wife's handbags to see if I'm safe to buy a new milling vice  ::)

i used them both today and they are indeed a treat to use

i always used the telescoping guages but they are a PITA to use compaired to these.

my next purchase is going to be a dial bore guage (after the wife gets another hand bag )

I have been on the look out for a nice inside mic, I recently picked up a nice Mitutoyo 1"-2" outside mic for a fiver.
there are some real bargains to be had, as some people seem to think digital is best and they don't want 'old' stuff   still it's my gain  :D
If it ain't broke, i'll fix it until it is.
