It excels at making internal keyways and machining rather large flat surfaces that will not fit on many mills. It is capable of doing a nice finish. Tooling is cheap because it is made from Tool Steel as you need it. Many people make their own holders and attachments. You can find some videos on Youtube. Hey RDL. I'm in the middle of a shop rebuild, the drill vise is just detritus. I don't actually have a vise for it yet. I'm thinking about making a toolmakers type vise for it. The machine is something I traded some work for, it needs taken apart and cleaned up and a few pieces (power feed pawl and gear) remade. I did hook the motor up and ran it tonight though, need a smaller motor pulley, runs way too fast. Jeff |
