Final parts done Thanks for comments Made the Knurled locking nut And then assembled the lot -wont tighten as it just slips. :( Need something to stop rotation. :smart: So I tapped a m6 tread in the outer sleeve and a 2mm groove in the inner.Then I cut a m6 allen bolt down to lenght and lathed a 2mm end. This all assmbled well and stopped the rotation. The whole lot together And relative to the headstock lenght the delrin spacer is just to keep things concentric but i dont think it is essential. And fitted to the lathe - Next I need a Saddle stop. Gerhard |

That really is a nice job you have done there Geroli. I will have to get one made for mine now, as I can definitely see the advantage of one of these for longer stock turning, just as John Hill suggested. Bogs |
