P71 Mini Pump mounted on custom wood plinth & custom plumbing
« on: December 19, 2024, 04:48:56 PM »
OKMO Microcosm P71 Mini Pump mounted on a custom wood plinth with custom plumbing.
I had a lot of fun machining up a lot of the metal work and also doing the woodwork and then putting this all together, I have a lot of hours invested in this.
Silver brazing up the three copper pot water return was a fiddly job to tackle, I had an image in my mind after giving it a lot of thought of what I wanted and it worked out better than expected and better still it worked!

Nice

I wonder if adding a syphon action to the bowls would make it more dynamic, a bit like the start-action repeated endlessly ?

And I wonder if adding a little alcohol or surfactant to the water would help to break the surface tension, making the water 'runnier'.

Looks great Jim.

My first thought on seeing your output bowls was, "Milk Cream Separator".

Amazing how first impressions brought Uncle's farm stuff.
I lived in town so farm visits were a big outing. Everything there was horse drawn and the cows were hand milked with the milk separated for cream.
Good to see,
