BillTodd:
Made from parts of a few old harddrives and broken monitors. The deck is the poly carbonate light-pipe from a 19inch monitor turning on the motor (used only as a bearing) of an HDD . The drive motor is another hdd motor driven by a ebay 3ph driver board. it turns the deck using a monofilament fishing line , knotted into a belt. The arm is 3d printed in resin with a carbon fibre tube and uses more hdd bearings. The 10mm poly carbonate body is from another 21inch monitor. The "soundstage enhancing constrained-layer anti-resonance clarity hooves" (copyright nephew George) are surplus poly V pulleys. |
