We have had a Union Jack flying by the main road since her Platinum Jubilee. With great sadness and a tear in my eye I have just been out and lowered it to half mast. While I was at school and in the CCF I had the honour of serving as a member of the armed bodyguard when her Mother came for a state visit - another great and greatly respected lady who showed huge courage during the war. |
