Building a box tool |

Well the parting off tool obviously rubbed rather than cut and I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, I am assuming blade angle possibly. There is 29mm between the centre of the stock and the centre of the pivot and I had the blade positioned so the tip of the blade went through the centre of the stock. Maybe someone could give me some pointers? |

Shipto, Did the stock material match the bush this time or was it 6mm in a 1/4" bush? Without a scale drawing it's difficult to tell if the parting tool geometry is correct. Phil. |

I have looked at it for ages now and I am going to give up on this idea and go back to feeding the blade in straight on a slide instead. I may save this for the future as I really need to get these bolts done and as a nasty solution I will bolt a couple of guides to use a hacksaw for now. It will mean an extra bit of work to clean up the back but will get the job done. |
