DTI Challenge....
John Rudd:
Great how we help each other....
Keep it coming....
AdeV:
What can I say.... thank you both!
Looks like Eric's got a big donation heading his way soon....

BTW - Bob, what does that little lever thing do, just under the dial? I've since discovered I also have a Mitutoyo DTI, along with the Tesa I bought ages ago, and neither of them have that feature on them...
There may also be some questions as to how it ended up in that condition.... short answer is, I have no idea! I don't recall buying it, so I must have acquired it in a job lot of other stuff at some point in the past. I only found it when I was moving literally everything in storage (strengthening the shelves with steel under-bars), and happened to glance in the tub it was sat in. There was some kind of oily gunk in the bottom of it, and this indicator... I don't actually recall having ever seen it before, so it's a true mystery how it came to be in my possession. I'm just really happy to see it brought back from the dead - as Phil said, it would have been so easy to just throw it in the bin... now it gets a second life as a useful indicator once again :nrocks:
Sea.dog:
It reverses the direction of operation of the pointer.

Very happy to help -- just plain fun to solve problems -- I think we all feel that way on this forum!
One thing I was curious about was that it was 0 to 80 instead of 0 to 100, unless I got that wrong. I couldn't see for sure, but it looked like 40 was at 6 o'clock, so 0-80 is what I drew up. (if I was wrong, just let me know and I'll re-do it).
