Normal desk magnifying lamps are expensive, bulky and cumbersome. Then I saw 6€ sewing led light magnifying lence in LIDL....It's only 2x, but light weight and about 120 mm dia. I also had next to useless magnetic base. It only needed one bushing to join magnetic base to disassembled light arm and then it is nearly ideal: No rim, no tube and no need to be overly carefull with it. Pekka |

I have an illuminated magnifier bench lamp, bought from Maplins... Use it when doing small stuff on my minlathe coz my eyes cant see that close up...(even though I wear glasses un the shop...) |

I was at the makerspace last month while someone was taking apart a printer / photocopier and saw some rectangle magnifier lenses that were about 3/8 / 1/2 wide x 5 / 6” long and thought it wouldn’t take much to situate them over a crosslide dial much like the height gauges have. |
