JerryNotts:
Has anyone else been watching these programmes?

The people doing the work seem specialists in their particular fields.

Well worth a look to see what is going on, but not much in the way of engineering but more cosmetic. However it makes a change from the usual drivel broadcast in the early evening.

Perhaps I'm getting too cynical in my old age, but the few episodes that I've seen seemed very artificial and staged.

charadam:
It is staged - at least, the obligatory tears at the end.

However, I think it is a worthwhile programme as it is very popular for a niche topic and exposes
some skilled people to a wider audience.

It even came up in the pub on Friday evening!

JerryNotts:
Andrew
Every thing on TV is staged and artificial.

My own belief in broadcasting was crushed by a series you might remember 'Drop the Dead Donkey'.

If you look at any form of communication that we experience, TV, Radio, Print and the dreaded social media you have to consume more than a pinch of salt before digesting.

Fergus OMore:
As I have an ear for music like Van Gogh, I DID enjoy the the one about musical boxes- if you will pardon me commenting!
