Taking Chinese 3 Jaw Metal Lathe chuck apart for cleaning
« on: May 29, 2019, 01:29:30 AM »
Taking the Chinese 3 Jaw Metal Lathe chuck apart for cleaning. Really happy I did this. The chuck hadn't been as smooth as it had been and there was a lot of crap inside it. Back to its usual smoothness and a pleasure to use again. Never done it before and it proved fairly easy. If yours isn't smooth, don't hesitate to take it apart and clean it.

My Burnard three jaw chuck had got rather tight and graunchy so I stripped it down and thoroughly cleaned it. There appeared to be no problems on a visual inspection so I reassembled it, it is no longer graunchy but it is still tight. I envy the people I see in YouTube videos spinning the chuck key as they adjust their chucks.

I did whip this off again yesterday Norman and put a light smear of grease in it.
