Thanks for that a picture of yours fitted would be helpful please, just trying to source a new belt, thinking of ribbed belt running inside out, thing is one size is too long, the next available size is way too small Phil |

What size belt did you use please? Is the mod on here? Phil |

I modified the large pulley. Just machined a flat and then added 4 or 5 grooves for a J section belt. I can't remember if I found a small pulley or made one. I got rid of the saw about 15 years ago when I acquired a Clarke bandsaw for free. Before I modified it it was more or less unusable. |

OK. Here's a picture. You may be able to see the white disc that the damper rod and adjusting screw go through. I did that to give something for the gaiter to seal on at the top end. As I recall there is a rib on the disc to fit a groove in the gaiter. You may be able to see that mine is the model that came without a motor. It originally had a V belt pulley and when I acquired it there was an enormously heavy gearmotor. I wanted to change that as there's no point in such a small saw that I couldn't pick up. I couldn't get sufficient reduction from an ordinary induction motor with V belts so I have gone for a poly V belt drive with two new pulleys. Russell |
