Home made prop shafts and props for the model boat builder

<< < (2/2)

Joules:
And the final set of test propellers in this exercise.   Contra rotating 4 blade props, I really need to get some proper sanding sealer, but online prices seem crazy.   I tried welding plastic into the defects on these props, hence they look a little lumpier than they should, but much stronger.   Wonder if resin dip and then spin them slowly as they cure would produce a better surface ?

Joules:
OK, I fibbed....

The first of the resin test prints have come in.  The printer still needs work as exposure isn’t consistent and some areas are building thicker than others.  The support also failed on the trailing edge of the 2 blade prop.   Surface finish is greatly improved, it’s now down to resin strength compared to PLA.  The resin used is castable, it can be burned out of a mould.

Increased the image resolution so you can see more of the surface detail.  This is DLP resin printing on a Wanhao D7
