I've just loaded this, to Firefox...... https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-fixer/

And..... My pics are back, on all my other forums!!!!

Ohhh....... HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never lost my photos, but then again i don’t get many views. I guess they were seeing the number of hits going up and thought they would stop for a while.   :coffee:

I'm sceptical, how long before Botophucket counter get wise and block it?

There's also a Chrome add-on:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/photobucket_hotlink_fix?hl=en

Too late for me now as I switched all my photos elsewhere!

Too late for me now as I switched all my photos elsewhere!

During the initial upset. Several people said, they had closed their account.

I decided, that was a bit, final, for me.. I left the pics there. Uselessly, taking up their storage space.

Obviously, I will never upload to Pbucket, again......

I always seem to get a holding logo on PB hosted photos. Using safari on iPad, is it just me?

Not  just you - Photobucket are trying to hold us to ransom to see pictures hosted by them - they have ruined many forums sadly. Consequently they are now on my blocked senders list as I get daily requests to resume using them - absolutely NO chance !

It's all working, very well for me, on phone, tablet, and laptop. Thanks to the addons.

I can see all my pics, and everyone else's, too.

They've never contacted me, either! Probably, due to the Adblock Plus......

I don't think there is a fix for Safari similar to the above mentioned for Chrome and Firefox,  can you install one of them?

I doubt PB will eventually tolerate the couple of browser workarounds. Plus, only those who are aware of the workaround, and who then isntall it will be able to see the pics. Most new visitors will not be aware of it and simply give up on the gutted threads.

If you have photos on this forum, linked to Photobucket, I'd back up all accessible images on your local computer if you haven't already. Then gradually relocate them either on an alternate provider or via the forum photo storage And re-link into your threads.

Then nice thing about downloading them as backup is that they will retain their names exactly as already linked -- if you re=host them elsewhere, generally all that is necessary then is to edit the part of the IMG tag in your posts that has the Photobucket server name. You just substitute the new server name. The rest of the tag stays the same.

Photobuckets emails say, "We are launching a brand new website in the coming weeks"  I have 1460 photos on Photobucket I am concerned that I will eventually loose most of them, It  would take too much time to save them all.

timby if you log in to photobucket you can have ALL your photos zipped up by PB into one big (library) package and downloaded to you as a single archive.

That shouldn't take much work (or time, unless you are on dialup).

Go to their site log in and look for instructions on how to download your library(s).

I have had a look but I can't find where to click  to do the download ? another site says top right hand corner.

I am wondering if it will break the links and prevent others seeing the images when I do it?

I'm astonished they're still around.  I thought for sure their last stunt was a self-inflicted bullet to the head.  I didn't use them much but I can guarantee I never will again.

timby, down;oading doesn't delete your photos. If anything, photobucket wants to retain them so you will pay their fees in the future. You have to purposefully delete them to get them off their servers. The only thing photobucket did was mask the links to your photos so fora couldn't display them.
