Frankfurt flea market.... yet AGAIN !

(1/2) > >>

eskoilola:
Oh dear. I made it again.

Kebab, sunshine, VERY cold wind and carbide inserts.

Seems I just cannot help myself. About 100 inserts 50 cents a pop. I just grabbed two fistfuls from a insert pile the seller had. Ended up being the proud owner of some really odd bits.

Does anyone know what the inserts in the right are used for ?

This is interesting:

Could it be to make multirib belt wheels?

Angle looks more acute than normal 60 degrees for threading. Polyvee has 40 degrees of included angle.

Does look a little like this:

If the "pitch" is 2,34 mm i.e. for J-belt....do you want to sell some?

Pekka

philf:
I just measured the angle by copying and pasting the image into Autocad and, as Pekka says, they could well be for poly-v pulley machining as they do seem to be 40 degree.

What is the pitch?

Phil.

Nice haul!
On a side note I notice on my old samsung tablet there are 3 colums of pics but only shows two rows on the page

eskoilola:
On the side one can read: N-40. NTK
The N-40 is probably the material - so not much of information there.
The distance over 2 teeth is about 7 millimeters, measured with my bad sight and a Mitutoyo caliper. That would make the pitch 3.5 millimeters.
