Are we allowed to start threads on general scraping topics (building a sharpener say) or is this forum just for finished things?

Great, I have some stuff to post on DIY power scrapers too. I was just mindful because we are under a how to section and I won't initially know how to :).

I completed the compound slide rebuild last night, the project I started when I was at the class. Many thanks to Andrew for the steel to make the gib from, that was completed last night. Now to finish the cross-slide scraping and re-assemble the lathe.

it feels completely transformed by the scraping and the new gib, hopefully the machine will cut better now.
