Help please (pipe threading) |

I wonder if someone can help me. Some time ago I saw (can't remember where) a guy that had a sort of cnc to open pipe threads. It used a small angle grinder mounted on a X/Y fixture next to an hand cranked chuck that automatically advanced the pitch to cut the thread with a milling disc. I've tried everywhere to find it again without any luck. Helder Ferreira |

possibly something to do with e-leadscrew maybe? http://www.autoartisans.com/ELS/ theres a yahoo group/s dedicated to the various uses too. |

Maybe this was the controller used. I remember it was a small table top portable unit that was hand cranked with only the X/Y axis moving the grinder with the cutting blade. |

An American pipe thread has a full-taper of 3.5798°. The gauge diameter and depth varies with each size of pipe thread. There are tapered reamers for finishing a pilot hole to diameter and taper. ??? |
