I realize this is an old thread but I finally got to making said oilcan. Well at least my interpretation of same from Pottyengineering's drawings adapted to the stuff I had in hand. Being given some 45 x 120mm brass tube that looked like it needed to be used I had at it. Solder rather than Loctite the base to the body then wait for 'o' rings to arrive from China since I didn't have any. (How they can sell 10 rings for $2.50 post free is a mystery to me. But hey! I like the price so got a variety.) The yellow knob on the top is from the, 'chuck it here' box and will most likely never get changed to the brass knob I told myself I would make. Anyway, here's a pic of my effort. Sorry for the lousy focus of my phone camera but that's all I have. John B |
