Hi All, I'm not a electrical genius that's why i hope You can point me in the wright direction. I do have a mini mill with a KBIC 240 controler, the mini mill is the XJ12-300 from Amadeal. The mill is in low RPM's intermittent and some times loses torque in the middle of a milling cut. Any idea what can be wrong. I have checked the brushes and these are ok. Any idea is appreciated. Regards, Jan from the Netherlands, |

Jan, The kb controller isnt too compliicated, but fault finding without any test equipment and not having it in front of you doesnt help..... Is the mill under warranty? If so a call to Hugh at Amadeal might help... So, options, buy another controller or else have yours repaired.... |

Hi John, Thanks for Your reply. I do have a multimeter. The mill is out of warranty but i opened the site of the mill and found the controlboard and i have seen the potmeter. I think there is something wrong with the potmeter, i saw black sud under one connector, so i wil check that tomorrow. Maybe a new connector could be a problem solver. Otherwise i order a new potmeter from Amadeal. Regards, Jan, |

Jan, The speed pot is connected to P1,P2 and P3 on the pcb.....you could check the connections, making sure they are secure. :zap: The speed pots are known to fail, I've changed mine twice during the life of my machine.... Keep us posted on your progress.... |

Hi John, I took a closer look at the potmeter and turned it verry slowly up, seems like there is something wrong with the wiper, i suspect not good contact. So i looked at the WD40 can i have and found out it is usable as a contact spray. So i gave it a try and sprayed some in the potmeter. It looks like the problem is solved. I'm a happy man. :) :) Thanks for your advise, Regards, Jan, |
