Welcome Peter, I am the whipping boy so you can blame me for everything, other people do. --- Quote ---He has always helped me following a telephone call for help --- End quote --- I always advocate, if possible, the use of a mentor, or just a friend with the same machining background. Whether many thousands of miles away, or local, it always helps if you can get someone to share a problem with. Luckily my mentor is local, but I assist people from the other side of the world if needed. The first bit of this post shows how I got a Myford nose thread instead of D1-4. It is just a matter of taking my normal chuck off, pop the adapter up the MT taper, and instant Myford thread. The only down side is that I can only hold items as long as the depth of chuck as the thru hole is blocked by the adapter. http://madmodder.net/index.php?topic=422.0 John |

Thankyou John for the link - that is exactly what I am looking for. I shall discuss it with my "Yorkshire Rabbi" - I've got an MT3 draw-bar, soft end, blank arbour handy (my lathe headstock is MT3 - as is the mill). Thanks Ralph - maybe not on this thread, but I have oft time wondered what music model engineers listen to when in the shop? |

Though I am sure many here will have no idea about the bands I will talk about. Eric |
