RobWilson:
Hi Phil

That the plan I had in mind, to use good old PVC pipe with push fit bends and the likes, and maybe some sort of cyclone contraption.  :dremel:

I think that maybe my workshop mods are suffering from Andrews project creep.  :palm:

Onwards and upwards chaps, Rob.

well worth looking at B&Q for remote sensing sockets with control ( about 12 from memory for 3 ). You set the system up with a remote socket for power for the vacuum. You can then stand at machine and turn it on and off without moving - very handy. I ve used it for years for my dust extraction system for my wood lathe. Get the biggest damn vacuum you can fit in, axminster do a really good wall mounted one ( cos I can see you like things on walls  )

Use the widest tube you can easily fit in and keep bends gradual; or you lose suction. Soil tube works and you can get bends with access ports in them, which makes clearing blockages easier.

Just take care , with all your singularities you don't vanish up you're own orifice with a loud quack like the Ouzlem - Ouzlem bird

Hi Rob, I used 2inch waste pipe for my dust extraction in the wood shed, its push fit but a good tight fit so no need to glue, then you can take it apart if needed. You can get swept tees with blanks so where you have a 90 degree bend you can also have a cap to take off in case of things getting blocked. The plastics center at Kingston Park do the stuff and are cheap too.

A bit of an update on the workshop, things are starting to become more ship shape, I can now walk the entire length of the workshop without having to step over something.  :med:

I stuck up a bit more Bott pegboard tonight, I had to move a socket, so while I was on I fit another double socket for my battery chargers.  :dremel:

The 40 Amp 240v supply for the phase converter is in, had to move a socket, so mounted a 16 amp 240v socket there while I was on.  :zap:

And I also swapped the 440v socket on the phase converter for one that would point to the rear, the original panel mount socket had the plug sticking out at 90 degrees.

Tomorrow, I think I will devise something to make the phase converter more maneuverable.  :coffee:

Looking canny Rob , it must be nice not having to step over stuff too. Did you ever dicide what you were going to do with the extraction system ? I am still deciding if a trolly type idea or a wall bracket is better for my converter
  Cheers Mick
