3D printing has been around a long time now and I'm still amazed by the work that can be done with it. I'm shure a skilled operator has everything to do with it. Great work Joules. :clap: :thumbup: Cheers CB |

Cheers guys, it still needs work. The calipers are flexing when the brake is on, so it needs a bit more meat and some stiffening ribs should sort it. |

Some interesting ideas popping up with this little disc brake. One is to have 3-4 calipers around the disc, each splined shaft has a small but thick section gear, all the pads are moved by a pair of ring gears. Due to the pads being printed I don't need to worry that the start point of my thread won't be lined up with the inset splines, they should all be the same. Now machining 6-8 pads would be shall we say challenging other than setting them and machining the ends in situ. |
