2560 board dead

Last night while doing a simple print my kit printer stopped and the screen went blank.  :zap: Checked the power unit and its good but when I checked the board it had power in and the 2 fuses are good and have power out but its not working. I looked at the various circuits but didn't see obvious signs of blown bits. I have another board on the way but am worried it may happen again. Any ideas on what to check? I checked the motors and end stops for shorts but they're all ok. It might just be a dodgy board but then who knows.
