Using Eagle for machine schematic?

I'd like to document the connections of my in-progress CNC machine with a proper schematic.  From what I've seen, industrial control schematics (for better or worse) are different than electronic schematics, though the share many aspects.  Is anyone familiar with using Eagle to do an industrial control schematic, or would anyone specifically recommend against using it?  What about other free or easily accessible tools that would yield professional results?

A while ago was looking for something to do the same, document a CNC controler evolution, and found this package http://www.pcschematic.com/en/index.htm , have not used it much yet but it is for industrial conrol systems.

Not sure about industrial schematics but as a general comment, I would recommend the free version of DIP trace hands down over Eagle.  Much easier to learn as well.

Visio would be a better choice,  I'm not sure if there is an open source alternative.  My 2d cad program, Visual Cadd also comes with a large selection of symbols that could be used.
