I was given this some time ago and thinking about what to do with it .
Its made by Gents and is the drive mechanism for the lenses in a lighthouse
The question is do I have to build a lighthouse or what else could I use it for Mike

You could build a really large police car that travels and flashes slowly.

First thing is I do not want to alter the mechanism in any way that can not be reversed.
It is as new and unused , I first saw it over 40 years ago sitting under a friends bench and inquired about it .
When my friend died it was still in the same place and he left it to me knowing my interest in clocks .
One of my thoughts has been to make a copy of The Earl of Meaths clepsydra in and incorporate this into the design
