Hobbymat BFE65 milling machine. Morse taper stuck in quill.

Manxmodder:
braeb, you could try applying heat to the taper socket on the mill that the drill is stuck in.

The success of this depends on how much of the socket is visible and protruding from the quill.

Use a electric hot air/paint stripper gun to apply the heat.....OZ.

melgump:
Hi, you don`t say whether you have a robust support between the end of the quill and the table. If not, a great deal of the force from your hammer would be lost. Just a thought. Hope you find a solution.
Cheers, Ray.

If it's a chuck wedges work well http://www.arceurotrade.co.uk/Catalogue/Chucks/Wedges-Drifts , then a tap on the draw bar .

braeb123:
Thanks for all the replies, I think the wedges could be the way to go, as I  have some angle iron handy. Would have been good to have the milling machine up and running, to mill the taper on wedge, but there's always a way round these things.

vtsteam:
Wedges, yes.
