Sorry I tried to remove just the email address from the previous thread but  i could not edit my message ,so had to delete the whole thread. :-(

The guy has replied and identified himself to me.

He has not apologised and has only offered a rather feeble explanation. I have sent him a factual but polite reply ( I was going to give him both barrels, but something has gone wrong at his end , and I don't want to make things worse)
