Hi Peter
Looking at the photos of the Low Speed Kit It appears that it is a single phase motor with a fixed speed of 1425 RPM.
Have you considered a Variable Speed drive using a 3 phase motor and single to three phase variable speed converter.
Or AC to DC variable speed converter and a DC motor.
"Poly Vee Belts" are far superior to vee belts for larger ratios of speed reduction and easier to fabricate as the angle of the vees is constant with any diameter so no calculations for the correct angles.
J Section poly vee belts are 60 deg by 2.34 mm pitch.

Eric,

I agree that Poly-V are far superior but the included angle is 40 degrees and not 60.

Phil.
