Early Chas Taylor 3 Jaw Chuck

Adev thought this was interesting so I posted some pictures of this 10 inch chuck a Chas Taylor of Birmingham original design was from about 1890's but do not what year this was made

I have just received one very similar with my Harrison not had a good look at it yet though.

I am sure that they are more common in UK then here in Australia

I have heard that these are the Rolls Royce of three jaw chucks and I can see that the clamping force is likely to be more even along the length of the jaw, but are there more jaws for gripping tube from the inside?

No because they were very expensive you bought  the other jaws as a extra they also came with two year warranty  these are only jaws for this chuck.  info supplied by UK lathes
