Just change a few bits and you will have a very nice Boley! :ddb:
Seriously though, there will be some useful bits in there, chuck, cone pulleys and those brass oilers might bring more as individual items than you paid for the lot.

Nothing is a heap of junk Chris, just because it is unrecogniseable, means nothing. It was just John and myself making a bit of humour at your expense, as we do with anyone at each and every opportunity.
As I said, if it can be made to work, a second roughing lathe comes in very handy, especially if your main lathe is tied up on a speciality set up.
Why knock the crap out of your soon to be set up precision lathe, when you can do all your heavy cuts and crap knocking on this one, then transfer it over to your other for final finishing.

John, describing my Clarke 300 as a "soon to be set up precision lathe" - that made me very happy! :D
I picked up the lathe today - surface rust is pretty bad but should clean up. Lathe is running but not turned anything on it yet. Some pics for you:
At the back of the tail stock is a rod, if you twist it around and push it up against the spring loaded tailstock it allows you to "peck" the tailstock - is this the correct use?
I also got quite a bit of tooling with it - would appreciate it if you could tell me exactly what it is and what it is used for.
I think I`m pleased with it - any comments welcome.
Chris
