Hose clamps (jubilee clips?) as a replacement for zip ties are a good idea, but I think I'd use this project as an excuse to make a wire tie tool, since I already have a spool of stainless steel aircraft safety wire: http://www.instructables.com/id/Wire-Clamp-Tool/ is the general idea -- there are several different versions on the site, but basically a slotted tube barrel with a pointed piece of all-thread and two posts and a wingnut -- or better still, a nice knurled knob. Well, then of course that would be a perfect excuse to start on a knurler.... etc.. :lol: |
