Edit......I see, Yahoo tries to make a premium out of that.

Well, opensource to the rescue:

Steve,

I'm sticking with webmail thanks. I can access it on my laptop, desktop, iPhone, tablet and any internet connected device (maybe even on those running the dreaded Linux). I do download copies to Outlook which I sync between my laptop and desktop but that's only insurance in case some b*****d in Nigeria hacks my webmail account again and deletes everything.

The ad is only a small annoyance to me.

Cheers.

Phil.

Phil I do the same, but also (and mainly) use a local email client. I set it not to delete from the server on download, so I can also access mail from a browser based web client when away. That gives two copies of mail in case bad stuff happens and the ability to write offline.

Well,  good to see that I'm not the only one.

I have decided to just ignore it. If I don't open it it just sits there anyway.

What I do find annoying is that these things are often supposed to be sent out as 'targeted' information; based on what may be of interest to you.

The present one is from Capital One, trying to get me to have one of their cards.  I already do. You'd think they would know that.

And the one suggesting my mother would like flowers form her birthday. Maybe she would,  but she died fifteen year ago.

Ah well, such is modern life.

Dave.
