Water Pump removal

Not sure where to put this thread so I'm putting it here  :scratch:

Originally the farm was owned by the local water board, and some of their infrastructure was abandoned when they sold it. On site is a large iron settling tank that I've used for the last six years as a pig pen. Drawing water from this for the public supply was an electrically driven Weir pump pushing water though a 3" (guessed dimensions) pipe. Pump and motor were housed in a wooden shed the roof of which had collapsed, and the rest of the shed suffered badly in recent high winds.

All a bit of an eyesore - at the least I needed to remove all the pump gear to tidy it up and make it safe for grand children, so a plan has emerged:

A/ Remove the pumping gear

B/ Build a replacement pig pen for the piglets that are due to be born any day now

C/ Remove the old settling tank

D/ Bring site up to level by importing 60 cu M of hardcore as ground slopes

E/ Blind off with road planings, roll to compact and leave for a year to settle

F/ Lay concrete  200 mm slab (24 cu M)

G/ Erect tractor / Lambing / Hay storage shed approx (15 M x 8 M x 3.5 M eaves)

H/ Go bankrupt  :bugeye:

So phase 1 is underway and a few pictures are below.

If anybody wants any of the pumping gear / motor etc and can take it away reasonably quickly it's yours FOC - the big tank is going to the local scrap yard.

Any chance of a pig (about 30 kgs would fit on my BBQ!) :)

So these seven little saddlebacks that were born last night are too small perhaps?
