Hi Guys, Re the bowl, I got pretty close with the scraper, but then I sanded some more. I then used the shavings to polish it a bit. I am now in the process of varnishing it, I decided it needed varnish after all. There are a few big cracks and I filled them with epoxy. Varnishing makes the surface feel the same all over. I have never oiled anything yet, but I am sure going to try. Thanks. lykle |

Lykle they look great love the Peacock and the box is very interesting. Rather than start another thread on Christmas gifts of wood thought I'd squeeze this one in I made for daughter (a request). Cheese board made from a Burl and a set of cutlery too she got to choose......the dark handles win will assemble and hand over later in the week. |

Is the marble attached? --- End quote --- Lykle Thanks LOML and I were same thoughts but you know daughters :doh: Yes Marble is covering a void which was filled with resin and sawdust then router used to mill 1mm deep and epoxy to burl. |
