The three pin plug is a standard UK 15amp domestic power plug. Much bigger than the US ones, the earth pin, which is always present is some 8 x 4 mm in section is the principal piece of brass.

Matt - it's 13 amps not 15. The previous 15 amp plugs of the 1950's -early 1960's era were 15 amp unfused at the plug.

Thanks Andrew! Oops middle of the night brain fart, ridiculous really, I learnt to wire a a 13amp plug aged ten when we moved from Cardiff to Aberystwyth in 1962!

Okay I see, then just the linkages were from the pins of a plug. I was wondering earlier how the flywheel, cylinder etc. could have been made -- what kind of plug that was.
Anyway, nice little engine!!
