Happy with the head etc. I'm turning my attention to the other end, of this engine.

There's something wrong........  :scratch:

It's not the 'orribly designed crank throw. With the big end bearing hanging out in space.   :loco:

It's not the way the crankshaft ball races wobble, in their oversize housing.  :palm:

Shouldn't the flywheel, and cam, bosses, be level with the top of the pedestal casting?




The top of the conrod, is a bit close to the cylinder.........




But, there's rather more clearance, down here.........




It's desaxe! :palm: Don't think that was a design feature!  :scratch:




The eccentrically cast flywheel, reminds me of a loco wheel.......




Would this improve the looks, at all?




Oh. Yes! ........ And, I've got a pair of 'em!





Still have lots of work to do. And, all winter to do it......

As ever a cracking engine rebuild ,good to see your still bringing them back to life .  :thumbup:

I will see about doing a few flywheels in cast iron for you ,as I will need something to practice on wile getting to grips with the  cupola  :dremel:
