Hi Andrew.
I've had it maturing, on top of the wardrobe, since November.

It was a real pleasure to machine. Cutting very sweetly.
The final thou', was very easily controlled. Using the usual 6" rule, and 2000 grit wet n dry........  :thumbup:

Not exactly sure on dia, as it was a hand rubbed final finish. Not far from 1.295".

I finished off the crank assembly, yesterday. Test run went ok.

At the other end. The 5 thou thick shutter, runs in a 25 thou deep recess. I thought it was rather a sloppy fit.  :scratch:

So, I milled off 10 thou, best I could, then polished the face, on a flat surface.......




It's now, gone from a popper....... To a quacker........




A blummin LOUD quacker!  :bugeye:
