Here in the States you can get whats called Cold Blue. You just clean the part and wipe it on. I have had really good results with it. Any pictures?

If you google "gun bluing" then restrict your results to pages from the UK, you will find sites like hese:
http://www.cheshiregunroom.com/store/ACCESSORIES/BARREL-RESTORATION?sort=20a&page=2 and

I wouldnt bother it false economy. All that cold blue is good for is the odd touch up on a screw.
Guarantee slap that stuff on in several coats it will come out like a patchwork quilt. Add to that it wont last 5 mins.

If you can do the finishing, the time consuming part, in long run it will be worth while taking it to a person that does blacking.
Such as this geeza the best in the biz but cheap http://www.isp-airrifles.com/index.htm

Hi KRV

It's not Chinese but rather, Spanish, I can just make out GAMO (El Gamo from spain), ASI(Anglo-Spanish Imports) used to be the importer and it looks like it may be an ASI Sniper...

Hi KRV,

I think that most of what we do can be classed the same way, costs more than replacement.
